JetBlue Appoints Justin Thompson as Vice President, IT Data and Analytics

JetBlue has today announced the promotion of Justin Thompson to Vice President of IT and Analytics.  In his new role, Mr. Thompson will oversee the carrier’s data engineering, data science, AI/machine learning and business intelligence.

On Friday (December 6, 2024), JetBlue announced the promotion of Justin Thompson to Vice President, IT Data and Analytics.  In his new role, Thompson will be responsible for the carrier’s data engineering, data science, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and business intelligence.  Reporting to Carol Clements, JetBlue’s Chief Digital and Technology Officer, Mr. Thompson will spearhead initiatives to scale JetBlue’s data and AI capabilities in alignment with the airline’s ‘JetForward’ strategy – a framework designed to bring JetBlue back to sustained profitability.


In Friday’s announcement, JetBlue’s Chief Digital and Technology Officer, Carol Clements, said,  


“Justin is a seasoned technology leader with a proven track record of delivering value through data and data science.  His focus on strengthening and scaling our data science capabilities will be instrumental in advancing our JetForward strategy.”


Also commenting on his new role as JetBlue’s VP – IT Data and Analytics, Justin Thompson, added,


“My team’s goal is to make JetBlue the most data-driven airline in the world.  We’ll achieve this by ensuring we have the best technology for our investments, fostering robust data literacy programs, providing secure self-service data access, and leveraging AI in collaboration with teams across the operation.”


Thompson, and 18-year JetBlue veteran, has held various leadership roles across customer support, marketing, and IT.  He joined the airline as an analyst focused on customer feedback, and most recently served as Managing Director, IT Data and Analytics.
