JetBlue’s inaugural Flight between New York-JFK and the Dutch Caribbean Island of Bonaire will take to the skies today. Celebrating the launch, limited time $99 one-way fares are now available for booking on the carrier’s website.
On Tuesday (November 5, 2024), JetBlue announced the official start of their new service between New York (JFK) and Bonaire’s Flamingo International Airport (BON), with the inaugural flight scheduled to touch down on the Dutch Caribbean Island this afternoon. The service will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays with an Airbus A320, and JetBlue will offer the only nonstop option on the route. With the new route, the carrier is now serving all three of the ABC Dutch Caribbean Islands, namely Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao, as well as to St. Maarten.
In Tuesday’s announcement, JetBlue’s VP – Network Planning and Network Partnerships, David Jehn, said,
“Renowned for its natural beauty, pristine beaches, and warm hospitality, we are excited to launch service to Bonaire, introducing a new destination and more travel options to our customers looking for a Caribbean getaway. Expanding our service in the Caribbean demonstrates our commitment to continue providing our customers exceptional travel options and experiences while promoting tourism and accessibility.”
Also commenting on JetBlue’s new route, Bonaire International Airport’s CEO, Maarten van der Scheer, said,
“We are excited to celebrate the launch of this new direct flight from New York’s JFK to Bonaire. Welcoming JetBlue to Flamingo Airport, with a twice-weekly, year-round service, has been made possible through the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of many partners working toward the same goal: increasing connectivity to Bonaire and making it easier than ever for travelers to reach our beautiful island.”
Bonaire is located in the Leeward Antilles, and is known as ‘Diver’s Paradise.’ The island offers crystal-clear waters, and exceptional scuba diving and snorkeling, with vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life. Additionally, the Dutch island features world-class gastronomy, luxury accommodations, outdoor adventures, animal sanctuaries, stunning national parks, cactus-filled deserts and year-round sunshine. With the addition of Bonaire, JetBlue now offers service from New York-JFK to 34 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean.
