On Thursday (October 24, 2024), JetBlue celebrated the official launch of their inaugural flights from Islip’s Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) and three popular Florida destinations.  The carrier will offer daily service to Orlando (MCO), as well as four flights per week to both West Palm Beach (PBI) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL), allowing Long Islanders to skip the commute into the city.  Celebrating the launch of ISP service, JetBlue is now offering one-way fares from $59-$69, available only on the airline’s website (T&Cs apply).

In Thursday’s announcement, JetBlue’s Head of Revenue, Network, and Enterprise Planning, Daniel Shurz, said,

“We are delighted to bring the long-awaited JetBlue experience to Long Island.  These flights are a testament to JetBlue’s loyal customer base on Long Island who have frequently traveled to New York’s other airports to fly JetBlue.  Customers no longer have to choose between the convenience of their local airport and the comfort, connectivity and customer service they enjoy with JetBlue.”

The Town of Islip’s Supervisor, Angie Carpenter, added,

“This JetBlue inaugural flight to Orlando is what dreams are made of.  Long Islanders are passionate about JetBlue and have been asking for the airline to serve Islip’s MacArthur Airport for years.  Today, those wishes would come true.  We are thrilled to welcome JetBlue – New York’s Hometown Airline to ISP – Long Island’s Hometown Airport.”

With the new ISP service, JetBlue will average over 225 daily flights across its network to Florida by February.  JetBlue’s new Long Island routes will be operated with restyled Airbus A320 aircraft, offering the carrier’s award-winning service, free and unlimited broadband Fly-Fi, complimentary name brand snacks and drinks, as well as seatback entertainment at every seat.

JetBlue is ‘New York’s Hometown Airline®’ and a leading carrier in Boston (BOS), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Los Angeles (LAX), Orlando (MCO) and San Juan (SJU).  The airline carries guests to over 100 destinations across the U.S., Caribbean, Latin America, the UK (London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Edinburgh), Paris, Amsterdam and Dublin.  JetBlue Airways Corporation trades on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol JBLU.
