KLM Cityhopper has appointed Maarten Koopmans as the carrier’s new Managing Director effective November 15, 2022. Mr. Koopmans succeeds Warner Rootliep, who will become Vice President Internal Audit.
On Monday (October 10, 2022), KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announced the appointment of Maarten Koopmans as the new Managing Director of KLM Cityhopper (KLC). Mr. Koopmans joined KLM in 1998 and has held a range of positions across the company, giving him a broad experience at the airline. Currently, he serves as KLM’s Vice President Component Services at the airline’s Engineering & Maintenance division, where he is responsible for the airline’s component business, which serves over 50 airlines.
In Monday’s announcement, KLM Cityhopper’s incoming Managing Director, Maarten Koopmans, said,
“I am honoured to be able to continue my career at KLM as Managing Director of KLM Cityhopper. Our KLC colleagues are under immense pressure, especially now we face daily disruptions to operations. This will, of course, receive my full attention. I am also looking forward to working with KLM to take further steps towards more sustainable aviation.”
Also commenting on the new appointment, KLM’s COO, Maarten Stienen, said,
“I would like to thank Warner Rootliep for everything he did at KLM Cityhopper. With him at the helm, KLC welcomed its latest Embraer, the E2, to its fleet. I'd also like to welcome Maarten Koopmans to the KLM Operations Team.”
In his new role as Managing Director of KLM Cityhopper, Maarten Koopmans succeeds Warner Rootliep, who will become Vice President Internal Audit on November 15, 2022.
