The seat can also be reclined to form a fully lie-flat 198cm-long bed. Additionally, the seats feature multiple charging sockets, as well as a wireless charging option. There is also a lockable storage compartment with a built-in mirror, and the seats feature a recessed bottle holder, so guests can leave a water bottle on their table, even during turbulence.
In Thursday’s announcement, KLM’s Executive Vice President – Guest Experience, Boet Kreiken, said,
“Based on extensive customer and competitor research, we improved our World Business Class seats to ensure that customers have more privacy and comfort during their flight. The new seats are better in terms of design, technology and sustainability features. For their new World Business Class, KLM selected Jamco Venture seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, giving all guests direct aisle access. These seats were previously installed in World Business Class aboard KLM’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. Following extensive customer research, KLM partnered with the manufacturer to improve the seat even further. The complete Jamco design, conceived in collaboration with KLM, particularly the personal cabin layout, is lighter than the previous arrenagement, without detracting from comfort or quality. KLM’s entire B777-200 and B777-300 fleet will be fitted with the new World Business Class seats, with the full retrofit will
be completed in the coming year.
