In a few more months, KLM will take delivery of their first of around 30 Airbus A321neos, which will feature a new livery design. As recently announced, the aircraft will initially be deployed on routes to Copenhagen, Berlin and Stockholm from August 2024.
On Tuesday (February 13, 2024), KLM revealed details about their first of around 30 Airbus A321neos on order, which will feature a new livery. The aircraft will enter service in August 2024 and will initially be deployed on routes between Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to Copenhagen, Berlin and Stockholm. The new practical and eye-catching livery features a dark line separating KLM’s signature blue and white swoops farther down, rendering the nose dome completely blue, ensuring that if an emergency replacement is required, the new nose dome can be fitted without disrupting the signature blue livery. The cockpit windows now feature a black outline, making them look like sunglasses.
In Tuesday’s announcement, KLM’s CEO, Marjan Rintel, said,
“The arrival of the A321neo marks a major upgrade of our European fleet. It is 50% quieter and generates 15% fewer carbon emissions than the aircraft it is replacing, making this an important step towards cleaner, quieter and more fuel-efficient aviation.”
KLM’s new A321neos will also feature wider seats, larger tray tables and spacious overhead bins. Additionally, the seats are equipped with a tablet holder and a USB port, while the cabin features a wider aisle, as well as multi-colored mood lighting that adjusts at every stage of flight. The cabin aesthetics were meticulously designed to enhance the KLM guest experience, with additional blue detailing and special entrance lighting to ensure a warm ‘Welkom aan boord’.
