On Thursday (October 24, 2024), Korean Air announced the launch of new service between Seoul Incheon and Fuzhou, China.  The route will operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.  Flights will depart Seoul Incheon at 08:40 and will arrive at Fuzhou Changle International Airport at 10:30.  The return flight departs Fuzhou at 11:40 and arrives back in Seoul at 15:35 (all times local).

Fuzhou is the capital of China’s Fujian Province and is known as the ‘City of Blessings’.  Around 58 percent of the city’s area is covered by forest, offering visitors fresh air and a pleasant climate, even during winter, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 15 degrees C.  This has made Fuzhou an emerging destination for winter golf tourism.  The city’s 2,200 year heritage has earned it the prestigious destination as a ‘National Famous Historical and Cultural City’ by the Chinese Government.  Tourists can explore Fuzhou’s well-preserved ancient architecture and cultural sites.  Located at the heart of the city is the historic Sanfang Qixiang (Three Lanes and Seven Alleys) district, which captures the essence of traditional Chinese urban design.

The region is also home to Mount Wuyi, one of China’s top 10 mountains, and regarded as southeast China’s premier scenic destination, as well as the Qingyun Mountain Hot Springs.  The new Fuzhou route is part of Korean Air’s ongoing expansion in China, and follows the launch of flights between Seoul Incheon and Xiamen starting October 1st, and the resumption of four weekly flights to Kunming on October 14, 2024.
