Korean Air has today announced that they will resume daily service between Seoul Incheon and Kumamoto, Japan starting November 24, 2024. The route had previously suspended in 1997 due to the Asian financial crisis.
On Tuesday (October 15, 2024), Korean Air announced the restart of service between Seoul Incheon and Kumamoto, Japan for the first time in 27 years. The route will operate daily starting November 24, 2024. The carrier will also increase frequencies on the routes from Seoul Incheon to Okayama and Kagoshima starting October 27, 2024.
Kumamoto is located in the heart of Kyushu and is known as a year-round tourist destination featuring a long history and stunning natural landscapes, including Mount Aso, one of the world’s largest Caldera volcanoes. Other must see attractions include Kumamoto Castle, the Kikuchi Castle ruins, a medieval fortress showcasing architectural influences from Korea’s Baekje Kingdom, the Amakusa Islands, and Kurokawa Onsen, a hot spring village with a 300 year old tradition.
Along with a multitude of fascinating attractions and sites, Kumamoto’s mild climate and famous local cuisine make it the ideal destination for travelers seeking both cultural experiences and natural beauty year-round.
