Lufthansa Cargo has today announced the appointment of Anand Kulkarni as Head of Global Markets effective July 15, 2024. In this newly created role, Mr. Kulkarni will lead and manage the sales regions and the Digital Sales department of Lufthansa Cargo.
On Wednesday (July 10, 2024), Lufthansa Cargo announced the appointment of Anand Kulkarni as Head of Global Markets, a newly created position, effective July 15, 2024. In his new role, Mr. Kulkarni will lead and manage the sales regions, including Germany, Austria & Switzerland, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and CIS, the Americas, and Asia Pacific. He will also be in charge of the Digital Sales department of Lufthansa Cargo. Anand Kulkarni will report directly to Lufthansa Cargo’s CEO, Ashwin Bhat.
Anand Kulkarni brings 25 years of experience, and a global leadership perspective, to his new role as Head of Global Markets at Lufthansa Cargo. Previously, he served as Head of Global Expansion at General Logistics Systems (GLS Group), where he developed and implemented the company’s global growth strategy. Before joining GLS, Kulkarni spent 15 years with DHL in various management positions in the Asia Pacific and EMEA regions. Some of his roles included leading regional Pricing & Profitability and global Sales Steering & Performance for DHL’s top 100 strategic customers, and he also served as part of DHL’s Global Aviation Strategy project which led to the creation of AeroLogic.
Additionally, Mr. Kulkarni worked in the U.S. for a management consulting firm specializing in aviation strategy and finance. During the course of his career, he has worked in the full spectrum of the aviation value chain, from airframe manufacturers to leasing companies, airlines, financial and legal firms, and regulatory authorities. Anand Kulkarni holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the London Business School (UK), as well as a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering from the University of Connecticut (U.S.).
With revenue of €3.0 billion and 7.5 billion freight ton kilometers in 2023, Lufthansa Cargo is one of the world’s leading air freight companies, employing approximately 4,150 team members worldwide.
