Lufthansa Cargo has welcomed their 18th Boeing 777 Freighter, which arrived in Frankfurt directly from the Boeing Factory in Everett, Washington on Saturday (August 17th, 2024).
On Monday (August 19, 2024), Lufthansa Cargo announced the arrival of their newest Boeing 777 Freighter. This is the carrier’s 18th Boeing 777F and arrived in Frankfurt directly from the Boeing factory in Everett, Washington on Saturday, August 17th. Lufthansa Cargo’s new dedicated widebody freighter has been named ‘¡Hola Argentina’, as part of the carrier’s ‘Say hello around the world’ branding. Currently, Lufthansa Cargo operates a fleet of 12 B777 Freighters on long-haul routes, while six additional B777 Freighters are operated by AeroLogic, a joint venture between DHL and Lufthansa Cargo.
In Monday’s announcement, Lufthansa Cargo’s CEO, Ashwin Bhat, said,
“We are delighted to welcome another efficient freighter to our fleet. This will allow us to provide our customers with additional capacity, continue to grow in the air freight market and enable global business. This means that we can align our network even more closely with our customers’ needs and also offer solutions to market changes at short notice. In addition, the B777F remains the most efficient and modern freighter in its class. Our latest aircraft is therefore another important investment in our modern long-haul fleet and contributing in making air cargo more sustainable.”
Lufthansa Cargo’s global network is also supplemented by four Airbus A321 Freighters on short and medium-haul routes. During summer 2024 these freighters are operating not only to/from Frankfurt, but also connect the carrier’s Munich hub directly to the freighter network.
With revenue of €3.0 billion and 7.5 billion freight ton kilometers in 2023, Lufthansa Cargo is one of the world’s leading air freight companies, employing approximately 4,150 team members worldwide. This enables Lufthansa Cargo to offer customers capacity on up to 7,000 weekly flights to over 350 destinations worldwide. The company also operates an extensive road feeder service network.
