On Tuesday (January 9, 2024), Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) unveiled new modernized uniforms for frontline airport team members of their ground-handling arm, AeroDarat Services (ADS). The new uniforms embrace modernity while paying tribute to Malaysia’s cultural roots, and were unveiled at a launch event at KLIA Terminal 1. The event was graced by the presence of Her Royal Highness, Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin. The launch event was held in collaboration with HABIB Jewels and TudungPeople, reinforcing the company’s commitment to supporting local brands and talent.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Malaysia Aviation Group’s Managing Director, Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, said,
“The new ADS ground uniform symbolises our commitment to professionalism and equality, while also appreciating Malaysia’s vibrance and culture with the inclusion of the songket motif embedded in the design. It is also a celebration of our internal talents, as the uniform was specially designed by the creative young minds in MAG, encapsulating the unity and creativity that will propel our organisation forward.
“While we know change is an inevitable part of our progress, what remains unwavering is our commitment to delivering the unique essence of Malaysian Hospitality. This is deeply engrained in our DNA and into every facet of our operations, ensuring that our guests continue to experience the familiarity and warmth that defines our brand.”
The new uniform collection includes a tailored three-piece suit, with skirt of trouser options for women, which is made from breathable easy-to-care for fabric. With versatility in mind, the lightweight blazer allows for easy removal while maintaining a professional appearance. The bold classic blue color scheme aligns with MAG’s brand essence, with the blazer featuring an intricate ‘songket’ design, which blends harmoniously with the country’s rich cultural heritage. Additionally, for the first time MAG unveiled a ground staff handbag and clutch, which have been repurposed from the previous kebaya uniforms.
