Norwegian Air Shuttle to Launch New Direct Routes From Haugesund to Alicante and Malaga

Norwegian will launch new service from Haugesund Airport, Karmøy in Norway to Alicante and Malaga. Flights to Alicante will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays from April 1st, While Malaga flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays from April 3, 2023.

On Friday (October 7, 2022), Norwegian Air Shuttle announced the launch of new direct service from Haugesund Airport, Karmøy in Norway to both Alicante and Malaga. Flights to Alicante will operate twice weekly year-round on Wednesdays and Saturdays from April 1st, 2023. Service between Haugesund and Malaga will be operated twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays from April 3rd through October 2023. Haugesund Airport Karmøy is also celebrating today the handling of 14 million passengers since the airport’s inception in 1975. The 14 millionth passenger was traveling on a flight with Norwegian to Oslo, and was surprised with congratulations and a travel gift card of 5,000 CashPoints, which can be redeemed for travel with Norwegian.


In Friday’s route announcment, Norwegian’s Executive Vice President – Networks, Pricing and Planning, Thome Maursund, said,


“We are happy to now be able to offer direct routes from Haugesund to both Malaga and Alicante. The Spanish destinations are among Norwegians’ most popular sun and bathing destinations in Europe. Flying directly from your hometown reduces both the travel time and the climate footprint. We look forward to welcoming Haugallanders on board.”


Also commenting on the new service, Lufthavandrift’s Commercial Manager, Pål Visnes, said,


“Haugesund Airport looks forward to expanding its collaboration with Norwegian with the flights from Haugesund to Alicante and Malaga next spring. Haugal residents are already well acquainted with Norwegian after many years of operation on the route between Haugesund and Oslo, and we are sure that this news will be well received by travel-loving Haugal residents.”

Norwegian Air Shuttle was founded in 1993, but the low-cost airline with Boeing 737 aircraft began flying in 2002, offering smart and pleasant travel experiences at low prices.
