On Monday (October 7, 2024), Oman Air announced their most significant new route in five years, offering travelers in Oman the first-ever direct connection between Muscat and Rome.  Starting December 20, 2024, the route will operate four times weekly with one-way fares from OMR 75 (US $195).

In Monday’s announcement, Oman Air’s CEO, Con Korfiatis, said,

“Our new direct flights to Rome represent an exciting step in our transformation.  Marking our second destination in Italy, this key route not only enhances our European offerings, but also marks the start of our strategy to maximise the utilisation of our narrow-body fleet.  As one of the most visited cities in the world, Rome is a perfect addition to our network. We are thrilled to offer our guests seamless and convenient access to the destinations they want to go to, while continuing to set new standards for service and hospitality.”

Oman Air guests can travel from Muscat to Rome on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.  Flights will depart Muscat at 15:00 and arrive in Rome at 19:30, while the return flight departs Rome and 20:20 and arrives back in Muscat at 05:45+1 (all times local).
