On Wednesday (May 1, 2024) Orlando International Airport (MCO) announced the launch of new service by Allegiant Air. Starting May 3rd, Allegiant will start new nonstop service between Orlando and Asheville, North Carolina, with direct flights to both Allentown, Pennsylvania and Knoxville, Tennessee commencing May 16th and 17th respectively. Allegiant will now be operating out of two Central Florida Airports, including MCO and Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB), so customers are advised to double-check their tickets to ensure they are operating to/from their preferred Orlando area airport.
In Wednesday’s announcement, the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority’s CEO, Kevin Thibault, said,
“We are delighted to partner with Allegiant on its new routes to Asheville, Allentown and Knoxville. Those visiting us, and our local residents, will benefit greatly as we continue to fulfill our goal of providing boundless connectivity.”
