During July, over 2,500 Emirates customers enhanced their travel experience by adding the carrier’s innovative at-home check-in service. The service allows passengers departing Dubai to complete the check-in process in the comfort of home, followed by an expedited airport experience.
On Sunday (August 1st, 2021), Emirates announced that over 2,500 guests took advantage of the airline’s innovative at-home check-in service during July. When the service is added to a reservation for customers departing Dubai, customers can enhance their travel experience by completing the check-in process in the comfort of their own home and then enjoy a swift and smooth journey throughout the airport. The service was typically booked by groups of four or five customers traveling to popular destinations such as Amman (Jordan), Beirut (Lebanon), and Male (Maldives). Home check-in were particularly popular on Thursdays and during the long Eid weekend, with up to 130 check-ins completed and 150 pieces of luggage delivered to the airport daily. Approximately 400 home check-ins were completed by repeat customers, underscoring the popularity of the service.
During the process, customer-oriented agents check-in travelers for their flights, issue boarding passes, weigh and tag their sanitized baggage and ensure they are delivered to the airport and loaded onto the aircraft. Each piece of luggage is disinfected with a protective coating that lasts up to 72 hours. The service can be booked up to 24 hours prior to a flight, with at home check-in available up the eight hours prior to departure. Customers can also book fast-track marhaba meet & greet services to help whisk them through airport immigration for an even more contactless ground experience. Additionally, travelers can book pre-travel COVID-19 testing, where a medical professional will perform a swab test ahead of the home check-in process and results shared digitally. Customers who test negative will receive a medical certificate within 24 to 48 hours to meet destination entry requirements.
Travelers arriving in Dubai can also book a ‘land and leave’ service, enabling them to proceed directly home while trained agents collect their bags, clear them through customs, sanitize the bags, and then deliver them directly to the customers doorstep. Emirates’ home check-in service is provided by DUBZ, dnata’s baggage technology and logistics company. Dubai-based DUBZ provides innovative, unique solutions to travelers, ensuring a safe and seamless experience their journey.
