Pratt & Whitney has today announced the delivery of the 1000th GTF-powered Airbus A320neo Family aircraft, which was delivered to Wizz Air. The aircraft is an A321neo and Wizz will power 276 A320neo Family aircraft with fuel-efficient GTF engines.
On Wednesday (April 27, 2022), Pratt & Whitney announced the delivery of the 1000th GTF engine powered Airbus A320neo Family Aircraft. Today’s milestone delivery was an A321neo, which was delivered to Wizz Air. In total, Wizz has selected GTF™ engines to power 276 A320neo Family aircraft, of which 54 have already been delivered. Pratt & Whitney also powers 105 of the airline’s A320ceos with V2500® engines. Airlines worldwide have saved over 600 million gallons of fuel and avoided more than six million metric tons of carbon emissions by operating fuel-efficient GTF engines. Currently, GTF engines power over 1,200 delivered aircraft across three aircraft families with 62 operators.
In today’s announcment, Wizz Air’s Chief Development Officer, Owain Jones, said,
