SAS and Air Europa have signed a new codeshare agreement, which will enhance connectivity between Scandinavia and the Iberian Peninsula. Under the agreement, SAS’ customers will gain seamless access to 12 key destinations in Portugal and Spain.
On Thursday (January 23, 2025), SAS announced the signing of a new codeshare agreement with Air Europa that will enhance connectivity between Scandinavia and the Iberian Peninsula. With the new agreement SAS’ customers will enjoy seamless connectivity to 12 key destinations across Portugal and Spain, while Air Europa’s customers will benefit from SAS’ extensive Scandinavian network. SAS will place their marketing code on Air Europa’s flights connecting Madrid-Barajas with Alicante, Barcelona, Vigo, Málaga, A Coruña, Bilbao, Palma de Mallorca, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife Norte, as well as Lisbon and Oporto in Portugal. Customers traveling with Air Europa will enjoy new travel options to Scandinavia, including SAS’ new nonstop flights between Madrid and Copenhagen, which is scheduled to launch on April 11, 2025.
In Thursday’s announcement, SAS’ Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Verhagen, said,

This collaboration enables both SAS and Air Europa to offer seamless connections and an exceptional travel experience, all backed by the strength of SkyTeam.”
Also commenting on the new codeshare partnership, Air Europa’s Commercial Director, Imanol Pérez, added,
“This agreement with SAS will expand customer choice by adding 20 new routes to our joint offering. Thanks to codesharing, customers will simplify their flight planning and enjoy an equal level of service quality as a result of our membership in the SkyTeam alliance. We are confident that it will be a success for both airlines.”
Under the new codeshare agreement, Air Europa customers will also enjoy access to key destinations across Scandinavia, including Aarhus, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo, Trondheim, Stavanger, and Bergen. Starting summer 2025, SAS’ customers will also have access to other routes across Air Europa’s network such as Marrakech, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, and Salvador de Bahia. The agreement was officially formalized today at Fitur, the International Tourism Fair in Madrid.
