On Friday (August 26, 2022), SkyUp Airlines of Ukraine announced the opening of a new Sky-Stream maintenance facility at the international airport in Antalya, Türkiye, for the exclusive maintenance of the carrier’s fleet. The MRO team currently working at the Antalya station includes Sky-Stream personnel, technical specialists and engineers. The team currently includes 41 employees who cover line maintenance for the carrier's Boeing 737-600/700/800/900 aircraft.

In Friday’s announcment, SkyUp Airlines’ General Director, Dmytro Seroukhov, said,

“Preserving and providing work to the team is one of our primary tasks today. The ability for our technical specialists to continue working in wartime conditions is a necessary requirement for maintaining the necessary experience and validity of their aircraft maintenance licenses. In addition, it is a chance for us to preserve the professional potential of the country for the revival of the Ukrainian aviation industry after our victory. We are incredibly grateful for the cooperation of State Aviation Administration of Ukraine and our Turkish partners TD Team, Corendon Airlines, Freebird Airlines, Tailwind Airlines, without whose support the station in Antalya would not be operational.”

SkyUp’s Sky-Stream maintenance organization was registered in March 2021, and was originally planned to develop the airline’s operations in Ukraine. Sky-Stream received their approval certificate on February 16, 2022, and at the time of the Russian invasion, an MRO station at Boryspil Airport (KBP) had been prepared and equipped. However, the full-scale war made it necessary to explore opportunities to work abroad. Currently, the Antalya MRO facility services three SkyUp aircraft, with another to be added in August, and two more in the fall. According to current agreements, the Antalya station will work through October, and for the fall/winter period, SkyUp will open additional line maintenance facilities in other countries.
