Complementing existing service to and from Portland, Southwest Airlines will launch service from Eugene, Oregon to Las Vegas and Oakland starting August 29, 2021. The carrier will offer once daily service to Las Vegas and two daily flights to Oakland.
On Thursday (April 15, 2021), Southwest Airlines announced the launch of new service from Eugene, Oregon, complementing existing service to and from Portland, which the carrier has served since 1994. Southwest will offer one daily flight between Eugene and Las Vegas and twice-daily service between Eugene and Oakland in the San Francisco Bay area. Southwest customers will enjoy same-plane or connecting daily roundtrip service between Eugene and over 30 airports across the airline’s network.
In Thursday’s announcement, Southwest Airlines’ Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, Andrew Watterson, said,
“We welcome new Customers to Southwest as we continue an expansion across the nations to bring additional service and open new cities. The addition of Eugene to our map positions easy access to Southwest all around Track Town, USA, and is a request from leisure and business travelers who value our flexibility and Hospitality.”
Also commenting on the new service, Eugene Airport’s Acting Director, Cathryn Stephens, A.A.E., added,
“We are excited for our new partnership with Southwest Airlines and are committed to ensuring a successful launch of service later this year. Daily nonstop service to Oakland and Las Vegas will be welcome additions for passengers in the Western Oregon region.”
