Spirit Airlines to Add Service From Louisville, Kentucky to Four Cities

From May 27, 2021, Spirit Airlines is launching new service from Louisville, Kentucky with daily nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

On Tuesday (February 23, 2021), Spirit Airlines announced the launch of new service from Louisville’s Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) in Louisville, Kentucky. From May 27, 2021, the carrier will offer daily nonstop service between Louisville and Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Orlando (MCO), Los Angeles (LAX) and Las Vegas (LAS). Spirit’s Flight 502 will be the only nonstop service available between Louisville and Los Angeles, offering guests seamless connectivity without intermediate stops. Additionally, since Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Las Vegas are three of Spirit’s largest gateways, customers will enjoy numerous seamless onward connectivity options. Fort Lauderdale is also Spirit’s largest gateway to the Caribbean and Latin America, providing access to five countries.


In today’s announcement, Spirit Airlines’ Vice President of Network planning, John Kirby, said,

We can't wait to welcome Guests from Kentucky into the Spirit family so they can enjoy our unbeatable combination of service, reliability, new planes and low fares when they take their next trip. Plus, we'll get to introduce travelers to the Derby City's mix of outdoor beauty, art and history, not to mention the bourbon.”


Also commenting on Spirit’s new service, Louisville Regional Airport Authority’s Executive Director, Dan Mann, added,
