Sun Country Airlines Announces Service to BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport

Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) based Sun Country Airlines announced Tuesday that they will begin seasonal service between MSP and Baltimore/Washington International Airport starting May 8, 2020.

Sun Country Airlines and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) announced new service from Baltimore to Minneapolis-St. Paul. The seasonal non-stop service will begin May 8, 2020 when the airline will offer two roundtrip flights weekly. Frequency will be increased to four weekly non-stops starting June 4, 2020. In today’s announcement, Sun Country’s Chief Revenue Officer, Grant Whitney stated,


We are excited to welcome Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to our growing network and to provide service to Minneapolis-St. Paul. We’re committed to affordably connecting guests to their favorite people, places and memories, and we look forward to bringing that commitment to Baltimore and Washington DC. We think guests will enjoy our low fares, great customer service, and comfortable onboard experience.”


Sun Country Airlines focuses on affordable leisure travel with scheduled service on 85 routes to over 50 destinations in the U.S., Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. The company also specializes in vacation packages that include airfare, hotel and rental cars, with special group rates for 10 or more passengers. Sun Country also offers charter services on non-stop routes up to 2,600 nm and is the leading narrow-body military charter provider in the U.S. Commenting on today’s announcement, BWI Executive Director, Ricky Smith said,

Today, Sun Country Airlines also announced new service from Minneapolis-St. Paul to Bozeman MT, Portland ME, and Cleveland OH.
