On Wednesday (June 26, 2024), TAP Air Portugal announced the resumption of service between Lisbon and Manaus in Brazil starting November 4, 2024.  The route will operate three times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with an interim stop in Belém.  With the resumed flights to Manaus, TAP now serves a total of 15 routes to/from Brazil with 13 to Lisbon and two to Porto.  The Portuguese national carrier previously served Manaus from 2014 through 2016.  Return fares are now bookable from €599 on the carrier’s website or through travel agencies.

In Wednesday’s announcement, TAP Air Portugal’s CEO, Luís Rodrigues, said,

“Brazil is strategic for TAP and the return of our flight to Manaus is another sign that we will continue to invest in the development of our operations in that country.  We recently launched a new route to Florianópolis and we will end this year with at least 15 routes to Brazil, record numbers for the airline in our sister country.  Our aim is to bring more and more tourists to Brazil, not just from Portugal but from all over the world to which TAP flies, and to offer more than 60 destinations in Europe and Africa, which can also be flown by Brazilians via Lisbon and Porto.  We want to continue to be the leading international airline in Brazil.”

For summer 2024, TAP is offering 95 weekly flights to Brazil, with an average of 13 daily flights.  From Lisbon, the carrier offers direct service to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, Florianópolis and Manaus, as well as from Porto to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
