Thai Airways Signs Lease Agreements for Eight Airbus A321neos With SMBC Aviation Capital

SMBC Aviation Capital has announced the signing of lease agreements with Thai Airways for eight Airbus A321neos.  The aircraft are from SMBC’s direct orderbook with Airbus and are scheduled for delivery in 2026 and 2027.

On Wednesday (February 5, 2025), SMBC Aviation Capital announced the signing of lease agreements with Thai Airways for eight Airbus A321neos.  These aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2026 and 2027 from SMBC Aviation Capital’s direct order book with Airbus, allowing Thai Airways to expand their regional network.  Thai Airways currently serves 64 destinations with a fleet of 79 aircraft.


In Wednesday’s announcement, SMBC Aviation Capital’s Head of Airline Marketing, Conor Stafford, said,


“The Airbus A321neo aircraft will not only boost Thai Airways operational efficiency, it will enhance the overall customer experience with more comfort and advanced features while also promoting a more sustainable aviation industry.  We are delighted to support Thai Airways in the growth and modernisation of their fleet and we look forward to many years of working together.”
