On Monday (November 2, 2020), Brussels Airlines announced that the carrier’s THE LOFT by Brussels Airlines and Lexus was voted ‘Europe’s Leading Airline Lounge’ at the 27th annual World Travel Awards ceremony for the second consecutive year. Founded in 1993 the World Travel Awards recognizes excellence in key airline industry categories through polls taken by both travelers and tourism industry professionals. Although THE LOFT has been offering a bespoke experience 2018, the award also recognizes the product and service adaptation which has been implemented due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic. THE LOFT by Brussels Airlines and Lexus is a unique concept centered on comfort, technology and design blending excellence in ‘Belgitude’ and Japanese hospitality. In Monday’s announcement, Brussels Airlines’ Head of Customer Experience and Marketing, Tanguy Cartuyvels, said,

“Customer centricity is at the heart of everything we do, in normal times and in these extremely challenging circumstances. The fact that we have won the award for “Europe’s leading airline lounge 2020” in the most difficult year our company and the aviation industry have ever experienced, makes it all the more valuable. I am extremely grateful to the travel and tourism professionals who voted for THE LOFT, and even more so for the customers who continue to visit THE LOFT in this challenging time. They give us the energy to reinvent ourselves in times of crisis and to continue offering great experiences, even within the limitations we face due to the current health measures. Working together with partners who are driven by the highest quality services, enables us to offer an exceptional guest experience. Lexus is the perfect example of that.”

Also commenting on the prestigious award, Lexus Europe’s Head, Pascal Ruch, added,

We are grateful to our customers for their trust and we are delighted to receive this esteemed Award for the second consecutive year. The Lexus’ spirit of Omotenashi, the Japan-inspired personalized and exceptional guest experience we bring to our guests is valued this year, more than ever, making a real difference and providing peace of mind for business travellers in today’s uncertain times. We strongly appreciate the outstanding collaboration with Brussels Airlines and other partners together with whom we share this Award today”.

The 2,040 square meter lounge offers seating for up to 500 guests and is divided into spaces with various ambiances and features including a central bar, seating zones and a breakout space which is ideal for business travelers. The unique blend of features includes a chocolate experience hosted by a Neuhaus maître chocolatier, at home SPA Grohe shower suites, individual nap rooms with starlit ceiling and Lexus LS Shiatsu-effect massage chairs.
