Transat has appointed Marc-Phillipe Lumpé as the company’s new Chief Airline Operations Officer from June 1st, 2022. In his new role, Mr. Lumpé will be in charge of all operations, replacing Jean-François Lemay, who helmed Air Transat since 2013.
On Wednesday (February 23, 2022), Transat A.T. Inc. announced the appointment of Marc-Phillippe Lumpé as the company’s new Chief Airline Operations Officer, effective June 1st, 2022. Mr. Lumpé will succeed Jean-François Lemay, who has helmed Air Transat since 2013. Marc-Phillipe Lumpé is currently based in London as Director, Turnaround & Restructuring, Aerospace & Defence for AlixPartners, a global business consulting firm. With over 20 years of professional aviation industry experience, he has held a range of management positions with Virgin Atlantic, Qatar Airways, Air Berlin and Thomas Cook Airlines.
Marc-Phillipe also previously served as a pilot for Lufthansa and has held several posts in the German armed forces, where he currently holds the rank of reserve lieutenant colonel. Mr. Lumpé holds a PhD in Business Administration from Cranfield University (UK), and a Master’s in Economics and MBA from the University of Hagen in Germany. He is fluent in French, English, German and Spanish.
In Wednesday’s announcment, Transat’s President and CEO, Annick Guérard, said,

Also commenting on his upcoming role as Transat’s Chief Airline Operations Officer, Marc-Phillipe Lumpé said,
