Uganda Airlines, the national flag carrier of Uganda, has taken delivery of a new Airbus A330neo, the newest version of the popular widebody aircraft. This is the first Airbus airliner delivered to the carrier, which was established in 2019.
On Monday (December 21, 2020), Airbus announced the delivery of a new A330neo to Uganda Airlines, the national flag carrier of Uganda. The airline was established in 2019 and the delivery marks the first time the airline has received an Airbus aircraft. The A330-800 is the latest version of the popular widebody airliner, and its tailored mid-sized capacity and range versatility makes it ideal to operate during the post-pandemic recovery. The aircraft will allow Uganda Airlines to launch long-range operations with nonstop intercontinental flights to destinations in the Middle East Europe and Asia.
Uganda Airlines’ Airbus A330neo features the Airspace cabin with 20 full flat Business Class beds, 28 Premium Economy seats and 210 Economy Class seats for a total capacity of 258 passengers. The next generation A330neo features new technology developed for the A350 and is powered by the latest Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines. The aircraft also has a new increased wingspan and A350-inspired Sharklets. The A330neo delivers a 25 percent reduction in fuel burn per seat compared to previous generation competitor aircraft, while the spacious cabin offers more personal space and the latest in-flight entertainment (IFE) system and connectivity.
