United Airlines Names Chief Customer Officer Toby Enqvist as Newest Executive Vice President

United Airlines has names Toby Enqvist, the carrier’s Chief Customer Officer, as the airline’s newest Executive Vice President. Mr. Enqvist was officially promoted yesterday by the Board of Director’s of United Airlines, Holdings, Inc.

On Friday (May 28, 2021), United Airlines announced the promotion of Chief Customer Officer Toby Enqvist as the company’s newest Executive Vice President, effective immediately. Mr. Enqvist was officially promoted yesterday by the Board of Directors of United Airlines Holdings, Inc. As EVP and Chief Customer Officer, Enqvist will continue oversight of the airline’s Inflight Services, Corporate Real Estate, Contact Centers and Customer Care, Customer Strategy and Innovation, and Customer Experience and Analytics. Additional responsibilities will be developing and providing United’s employees with leadership support to better serve the airline’s guests.


In Friday’s announcement, United Airlines’ CEO, Scott Kirby, said,


"Toby leads with the unwavering purpose of being United's top customer advocate and this promotion reflects not only his success in caring for our customers but also our continuing commitment to delivering the best possible experience for all those we fly. With Toby's vision and direction, we are truly leading the industry in finding ways to innovate which is essential as we strive to become the best airline in the history of aviation.”


Also commenting on his promotion, United’s newest EVP and Chief Customer Officer, Toby Enqvist, added,


“I look forward to continuing to work alongside my talented and dedicated team to keep moving us forward with industry leading innovation that will offer our customers the best experience whenever and wherever they fly United.”


Mr. Enqvist has over 25 years of experience in the airline industry, having joined Continental Airlines in 1996. During his career, he has held various senior leadership positions within operations and finance, including Senior Vice President of Network Operations and Customer Solutions for United Airlines. Mr. Enqvist is a native of Sweden who moved to the U.S. to attend Ouachita Baptist University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He also holds and MBA from Southern Methodist University and is the married father of one daughter.


United Airlines’ shared purpose is “Connecting People. Uniting the World.” Shares in the company’s parent, United Airlines Holdings, Inc., are publicly traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol ‘UAL.’
