On Monday (March 29, 2021), United Airlines announced their return to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) with new direct service to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The routes will be operated with Boeing 767-300ERs featuring 46 Business Class all-aisle-access seating and 22 United Premium Plus® seats. With both routes combined, United is now offering the most premium seats between the New York City Area and the West Coast gateways than any other carrier.

In Monday’s announcement, united Airlines’ Vice President of Domestic Network Planning and Scheduling, Ankit Gupta, said,

“United's return to JFK reflects not only our strong commitment to the New York City area, but also to increasing service to and from the places our customers want to fly. With the addition of JFK, United now offers unmatched service, greater convenience, more choice and a best-in-class product for travelers throughout the New York City region as they return to the skies.”

Also commenting on United’s return, John F. Kennedy International Airport’s General Manager, Charles Everett, added,

“We're happy to welcome United Airlines back to Kennedy Airport. We remain committed to providing the highest level of safety, accessibility and ease of travel for all of the passengers who use the Port Authority's airport facilities, and United's decision is a great step in that direction.”

United Airlines’ premium cabin features flat-bed seats, like those offered on current flights from Newark to LAX and SFO. The premium product includes the signature cooling gel pillow, a day blanket and pillow from Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as signature seasonal menus crafted by renowned chefs and distinctive amenities. United Business Class and Premium Plus guests will enjoy a complimentary hot entrée, mixed nuts, salad, dessert and complimentary alcoholic beverages. Economy Plus and Economy customers will enjoy an all-in-one snack bag, as well as the carrier’s buy onboard program, which is returning on April 12, 2021. As always, eligible customers will have access to the United Club locations at LAX and SFO.
