WestJet had today announced the inauguration of new service from both Calgary and Toronto to Tulum in Mexico. Flight WS2320 departed Calgary at 8:55 a.m. MST, while flight WS2034 departed Toronto at 9:00 a.m. EST.
On Saturday (November 9, 2024), WestJet celebrated the inauguration of new service to Tulum, Mexico from both Calgary and Toronto. WestJet flight WS2320 departed Calgary at 8:55 a.m. MST, while flight WS2034 took flight from Toronto at 9:00 a.m. EST. Service to Tulum’s newly opened international airport bolsters WestJet’s robust network to and from Mexico’s Riviera Maya. Guests traveling to Tulum will benefit from optimized flight times, allowing seamless connectivity from Canadian destinations across the WestJet network.
In Saturday’s announcement, WestJet’s VP – Network and Schedule Planning, Daniel Fajardo, said,
“WestJet is pleased to further enhance our connections to sun destinations this winter with new seasonal service to Tulum from Calgary and Toronto, allowing guests from coast-to-coast to explore the beauty of Mexico's Riviera Maya. Cementing our position as the country's leading leisure airline, the WestJet Group will provide more seat capacity than any other carrier to sun destinations this winter.”
Also commenting on the launch of Tulum service, Toronto Pearson’s Executive Director – Customer Experience and Airline Relations, Kurush Minocher, added,
“Mexico has long been a favourite getaway for passengers departing from Toronto Pearson. We're delighted to welcome WestJet's new direct flights to Tulum, adding even more convenient travel options for our passengers to reach this vibrant destination.”
Additionally, WestJet Vacations has partnered with 30 major hotels near the Aeropuerto Internacional de Tulum Felipe Carillo (TQO), allowing guests to book their vacation in one transaction.
With 28 years of service, WestJet has cut airfares for Canadians in half and increased the flying population around Canada by over 50 percent. The airline launched in 1996 with three aircraft, 250 employees and five destinations, and has now grown to more than 180 aircraft and 14,000 employees, offering service to over 100 destinations in 26 countries.
