WestJet has today outlined their winter 2024/25 schedule from Edmonton, which will be the carrier’s largest-ever from the city, with 20 percent more capacity compared to last winter.
On Tuesday (June 4, 2024), WestJet announced highlights of their largest-ever winter schedule from Edmonton International Airport (YEG). For winter 2024/25, the carrier will increase capacity from Edmonton by 20 percent versus last winter, with service to 16 nonstop destinations in Canada and nine transborder destinations, including Hawaii, as well as five travel options to Mexico. This winter, WestJet will operate approximately 313 weekly flights from Edmonton, with new or increased flight frequencies on 10 of 16 domestic routes.
In Tuesday’s announcement, WestJet Group’s EVP and Chief Commercial Officer, John Weatherill, said,

Also commenting on WestJet’s winter 2024/25 schedule expansion, Edmonton International Airport’s President & CEO, Myron Keehn, said,

With 28 years of service, WestJet has cut airfares for Canadians in half and increased the flying population around Canada by over 50 percent. The airline launched in 1996 with three aircraft, 250 employees and five destinations, and has now grown to more than 180 aircraft and 14,000 employees, offering service to over 100 destinations in 26 countries.
