On Tuesday (November 5, 2024), WestJet announced the launch of a new long-term partnership Skip, which is part of JustEatTakeaway.com, a leading online food delivery marketplace.  The first phase of the partnership will introduce exclusive benefits for WestJet Rewards members and Skip customers.  Soon, WestJet Rewards members will be able to choose a Skip gift card as part of a new milestone award within the WestJet Rewards program.  Additionally, Skip’s newly launched membership program, Skip+, will give members access to exclusive WestJet travel perks and experiences.  Both WestJet and Skip are committed to adding more benefits, features and offers in 2025 and beyond.

In Tuesday’s announcement, WestJet’s VP – Commercial Development & Strategic Partnerships, Jeff Hagen, said,

“Seamlessly blending convenience and travel rewards for Canadians, our newly forged partnership with Skip brings value and choice to WestJet Rewards members in their everyday lives.  Enhancing WestJet Rewards to go beyond the day of travel, we continue to deliver exclusive benefits, experiences and rewards for our members not only when they travel, but as their stories take off.”

Also commenting on the new partnership, Skip’s Vice President of Marketing, Rachel MacAdam, said,

“We’re thrilled to partner with WestJet, giving Canadians access to exclusive travel perks and experiences on Skip.  Through our newly launched membership program, Skip+, we're catering to our customers’ passion points – including their love of travel – so Canadians can easily unlock exclusive benefits they love.”

Skip is part of JustEatTakeaway.com, a leading global online food delivery marketplace with over 50,000 restaurant partners across Canada, including a growing number of grocery stores, retailers, alcohol and convenience stores.

With 28 years of service, WestJet has cut airfares for Canadians in half and increased the flying population around Canada by over 50 percent.  The airline launched in 1996 with three aircraft, 250 employees and five destinations, and has now grown to more than 180 aircraft and 14,000 employees, offering service to over 100 destinations in 26 countries.
