This announcement marks the start of a fully-integrated partnership between WestJet and TELUS, elevating the carrier’s inflight connectivity experience. Over the next few months, the partners will introduce additional, exclusive benefits and perks for WestJet Rewards loyalty program members and TELUS customers.
In Wednesday’s announcement, WestJet Group’s EVP and Chief Commercial Officer, John Weatherill, said,

With the new partnership, WestJet will become the largest North American and first commercial Boeing 737 operator to offer inflight connectivity powered by Starlink’s best-in-class technology, which includes the world’s largest satellite constellation. The new onboard connectivity platform will start rolling out before the end of 2024, with plans to complete installation on WestJet’s entire single-aisle fleet by the end of 2025. WestJet’s widebody fleet is expected to be upgraded by the end of 2026. Access to the inflight system will be provided exclusively to WestJet Rewards members for free thanks to TELUS.
