WestJet has today announced the launch of new seasonal service between Calgary and New York’s LaGuardia Airport for summer 2025, complementing existing service from Calgary to New York-JFK.
On Wednesday (January 15, 2025), WestJet announced the launch of new seasonal service between Calgary and New York’s LaGuardia Airport for summer 2025. The new service will complement the carrier’s existing service from Calgary to New York-JFK. Flights between Calgary will be available for booking from 10:00 MST on January 20, 2025, for travel from May 24th through August 30, 2025.
In Wednesday’s announcement, WestJet’s VP – Network and Schedule Planning, Daniel Fajardo, said,
“There is a significant appetite for flights to New York, either for visiting the city itself to watch a Broadway show, concert, catch a Yankees game, visit Central Park, or just to connect onward. The addition of this route boosts our ability to meet this demand and provide guests with more options.”
With 28 years of service, WestJet has cut airfares for Canadians in half and increased the flying population around Canada by over 50 percent. The airline launched in 1996 with three aircraft, 250 employees and five destinations, and has now grown to more than 180 aircraft and 14,000 employees, offering service to over 100 destinations in 26 countries.
