The carrier’s 9,300 square foot flagship WestJet Elevation Lounge at Calgary International Airport features panoramic views and Canadian-inspired details. The contemporary space was designed in collaboration with the global architecture firm Gensler.
Today (October 27, 2020), WestJet announced the grand opening of their new Elevation Lounge at Calgary International Airport (YYC), which will take place on November 2, 2020. The 9,300 square foot contemporary lounge was designed in collaboration with the global architecture design firm Gensler and offers panoramic views, diverse Canadian-inspired details and a refined mountain living vibe. WestJet’s new Elevation Lounge is located at Concourse B of the Domestic Terminal and is accessible to guests departing from Concourses A, B and C as well as Concourse D of the international Terminal. In Tuesday’s announcement, WestJet’s Chief Commercial Officer, Arved von zur Muehlen, said,
“The opening of the WestJet Elevation Lounge is a pivotal moment for our business and demonstrates our commitment to delivering world-class experiences both on the ground and in the air. It was only fitting to open this flagship space within our home hub in Calgary. The lounge will provide our top-tier WestJet Rewards members and business cabin travellers with a safe and comfortable place to rest, rejuvenate and work when visiting YYC.”
Also commenting on the new Elevation Lounge, Calgary Airport Authority’s Vice President of Commercial, Strategy and Chief Financial Officer, Rob Palmer, added,

WestJet’s Elevation Lounge features a chef-designed and freshly prepared menu highlighting local and seasonal ingredients as well as signature beverages crafted by dedicated bartenders, a premium wine selection, and beer options from Calgary’s own breweries. The beer selection includes WestJet’s Elevation beer on tap from The Dandy Brewing Company, and an Extra Pale Ale by Annex Ale Project. The lounge also features curated Canadian products from renowned local companies including Calgary’s own Fratello Coffee Roasters and the Rocky Mountain Soap Company.
The lounge also features dedicated focus spaces featuring Wi-Fi, free printing and reservable meeting spaces with digital amenities, allowing guests to plug-in for business or unplug and relax. Guests will also enjoy refreshing spaces which include reservable private shower facilities. WestJetters will also enjoy personalized service by the carrier’s Priority Service Agents who can assist with travel plans and share expertise on local information. The Elevation Lounge is also adorned with exclusive artwork by Calgary-based artist Mandy Stobo which features an immersive augmented reality experience. Guests traveling with children will also appreciate a dedicated family space with activities for kids to explore and interact.
Elevation Lounge visitors will experience WestJet’s enhanced health, safety and sanitization measures including contactless – self service entry, mandatory facemasks (except when eating and drinking), reduced capacity to ensure social distancing and direct to table food ordering via personal devices. WestJet has also implemented a continuous cleaning regimen including electrostatic spraying, plexiglass shields at high traffic areas and hand sanitizers in high-touch zones. The November 2, 2020 of the airline’s Elevation Lounge in Calgary is the culmination of two years of research, planning and construction within the airport, demonstrating WestJet’s ongoing commitment to growing their presence and premium guest experience at the airport.
