The airline will launch service from their 9th airport in Poland connecting Eindhoven in the Netherlands from Southeast Poland’s Rzeszów Jasionka Airport from November 6, 2020. The carrier hopes the new route will stimulate the local aviation and hospitality sectors.
On Wednesday (October 7, 2020), Wizz Air announced an expansion of their service to and from Poland with a new route between the Podkarpacie region’s Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport to Eindhoven in the Netherlands. The carrier will offer twice-weekly service on the route from November 6, 2020, which will operate on Mondays and Fridays. From December, the route will be operated twice-weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Wizz hopes the new route will help stimulate the local aviation and hospitality sectors while providing Podkarpacie passengers low fares to the Netherlands. In Wednesday’s announcement, Wizz Air’s Chief Commercial Officer, George Michalopoulos, said,
“We are thrilled to announce our first route from Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport to Eindhoven. Wizz Air continues to expand its low-fare route network in Poland while maintaining the highest standards in terms of health and safety protocols. Our polish crew looks forward to welcoming you onboard.”
Also commenting on Wednesday’s announcement, Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport’s CEO, Adam Hamryszczak, added,
“Today’s announcement is a real milestone in the history of Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport. Our strategic goal is to diversify our business partnerships; therefore, we highly appreciate the decision of Wizz Air to start operating from our airport. I hope this new route marks the beginning of a long-term cooperation and further route development.”
