Wizz Air to Introduce New Service Between Cluj-Napoca and Castellon

Wizz Air has announced the launch of a new route between Cluj-Napoca in Romania and Castellon, Spain.  Starting April 11, 2025, the route will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, and will then operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays from June 16, 2025.

On Thursday (January 9, 2025), Wizz Air announced the launch of new service between Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and Castellon (Spain).  The route will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays from April 11, 2025, and then on Tuesdays and Saturdays starting June 16, 2025.  Tickets are now available for booking with introductory one-way fares from €19.99 (RON 99).  Currently, Wizz Air offers 36 routes from Cluj-Napoca. And in 2024, operated nearly 11,000 flights from the airport.


In Thursday’s announcement, Wizz Air’s Managing Director, Mauro Peneda, said,


“This new route from Cluj-Napoca underlines our commitment to offer our passengers convenient and affordable travel options.  We are very pleased to diversify our network and connect Cluj-Napoca with Castellon, a place long favourited by the Romanian visitors. We also believe that the Spanish city is another hidden gem for frequent travellers and hope that the new route will generate a continuous flow of passengers throughout the year, in both directions.”

 

Also commenting on the new Castellon service, Cluj International Airport’s CEO, David Ciceo, added,

 

“We are enthusiastic about this new route announcement, and a direct flight between Cluj and Castellon, which is going to be the 8th Spanish destination in our route network.  The new route will serve the important Romanian community of Castellon but will also provide Spanish citizens of this region the opportunity to visit the city of Cluj-Napoca and the historical province of Transylvania.”
